The Bolivar Municipal Court will be held on Wednesday evenings beginning at 5:30 p.m. on the third floor of the Polk County Courthouse starting on May 15, 2013. 

 

All municipal cases will be heard in the Small Courtroom.  If you have a scheduled court date on any date other than a Wednesday evening, please contact the Court Clerk at 417-328-0233 to verify when your court date is scheduled if you have not been contacted already.

 

This change ONLY applies to Bolivar Municipal Court.  All regularly scheduled Polk County cases are not affected.

 

City Court is the Municipal Division of the Associate Circuit Court of Polk County and is located in the City Hall at 345 S. Main Avenue.  Judge Randolf Blosch presides over the Municipal Court.  Regular operating hours of the Municipal Clerk are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; closed on major holidays.

 

Not all violations require a court appearance and may be made by mail or in person at the office of the Municipal Court Clerk.  Provided with citations at the time of offense is a list of all offenses accepted by mail, along with fine amounts.  Please note that citations with a 10:00 a.m. court time do not require an appearance and are payable by mail or in person.

 

Mandatory court appearances are held on Tuesday afternoons starting at 2:00 p.m., with check in time starting at 1:00 p.m.

 

Payment by mail must be in the form of money order, cashier’s check or personal check and include defendants copy of the citation signed on the back by defendant with current address information and telephone number where defendant can be reached.  NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED IN THE MAIL.

 

Payment in person WILL NOT be accepted sooner than five (5) to seven (7) days from the court date given on the citation.

City Hall is now fully operational at temporary locations as follows:

If you are looking for the UTILITIES DEPARTMENT, you will find them at the former Commerce drive-thru at 624 S. Albany Ave. This includes utility service, special events applications, business licenses, building permits and park reservations.

If you are looking for the COURT CLERK to pay a ticket or a fine, you will also need to go to the former Commerce drive-thru at 624 S. Albany Ave.

If you are looking for the POLICE DEPARTMENT, they are now located in the former Commerce building at 624 S. Albany Ave.

The FIRE DEPARTMENT is still located at 312 S. Springfield Ave.

The BUILDING INSPECTOR is now located at the Public Works Building, 2251 W. Broadway.

The ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENT is now located at the Bolivar Municipal Golf Course, 1506 W. Broadway St. This includes business licenses, building permits, park reservations, special events applications and appointments with Administration.
