Welcome to the Bolivar City Fire Department’s web page. Bolivar City Fire is a progressive department serving over 10,000 citizens in central Polk County, Missouri. We are proud of our department and our history, which stretches back nearly 120 years. We try very hard to hold on to those honored traditions of the past while still embracing cutting edge technologies and practices to provide the very best service to our community. Our firefighters are dedicated, motivated, and willing to go the extra mile to provide whatever service the citizens need.

The Bolivar City Fire Department is a municipal combination department of four paid employees and twenty paid per call firefighters. We operate out of two stations; both with drive through bays.

KNOX Box Program

The City of Bolivar and the Bolivar Fire Department along with local businesses participate in the KNOX Box program. This program ensures quick access to a business in case of emergency all the while ensuring the business complete security. BCFD Honor Guard

Bolivar Fire Department is proud to have a 4 man honor guard to represent our department and the community. This unit is lead by Chief James Ludden. This group marches in local parades, represents BCFD at the state wide ff memorial service, and other events throughout the year. City Hall is now fully operational at temporary locations as follows:

If you are looking for the UTILITIES DEPARTMENT, you will find them at the former Commerce drive-thru at 624 S. Albany Ave. This includes utility service, special events applications, business licenses, building permits and park reservations.

If you are looking for the COURT CLERK to pay a ticket or a fine, you will also need to go to the former Commerce drive-thru at 624 S. Albany Ave.

If you are looking for the POLICE DEPARTMENT, they are now located in the former Commerce building at 624 S. Albany Ave.

The FIRE DEPARTMENT is still located at 312 S. Springfield Ave.

The BUILDING INSPECTOR is now located at the Public Works Building, 2251 W. Broadway.

The ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENT is now located at the Bolivar Municipal Golf Course, 1506 W. Broadway St. This includes business licenses, building permits, park reservations, special events applications and appointments with Administration.
