Our community has a rich history. Bolivar was established in 1835 and serves as the Polk County seat. Today, it has around 11,000 residents. 

Bolivar is home to the Citizens Memorial Hospital and Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation integrated healthcare system, Southwest Baptist University, the Bolivar R-1 School District, and many vibrant and successful businesses.
